These immunity boosting fall meals are packed with anti-inflammatory, gut-healing, vitamin-rich ingredients that keep you warm, strong, and deeply satisfied! All season long!

There’s something about that first sniffle of the season that sends you spiraling. You start second-guessing every tickle in your throat.

But, the best time to boost your immunity isn’t when you’re already sick—it’s now, when the air shifts and your sweaters come out of storage.

These five immunity boosting fall meals are built from ingredients that do heavy lifting: garlic, ginger, turmeric, bone broth, cruciferous greens, fermented toppings—all layered into meals that warm you from the inside out.

Immunity Boosting Fall Meals

1. Golden Turmeric Chicken Soup With Garlic, Ginger, And Kale

Ingredients

For The Base

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric (or 1 tbsp fresh, finely grated)
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 4 cups (1 L) low-sodium bone broth or chicken stock
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (from a rotisserie or leftover roast)
  • 1 cup carrots, thinly sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, thinly sliced

To Finish

  • 1 heaping cup curly kale, ribs removed, torn
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Extra black pepper, to finish

Making The Cold-Fighting Bowl That Never Fails Me!

In a large soup pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until translucent. About 5 minutes.

Now stir in garlic, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, and salt. Let them bloom for 30–60 seconds. This is where the flavor starts flexing.

Add broth, shredded chicken, carrots, and celery. Stir well. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat slightly, and let it bubble gently for 12–15 minutes, just until the veggies are soft but not mushy.

Toss in the kale and stir until wilted—2–3 minutes. Turn off the heat and squeeze in the lemon juice. That hit of acidity brings the whole thing to life.

Ladle into bowls and crack fresh black pepper on top. Feels like a hug. Tastes like one, too.

2. Roasted Sweet Potato Quinoa Bowl With Lemon-Tahini Drizzle

Ingredients

For The Bowl

  • 1 cup cooked quinoa (tri-color or white)
  • 1 large sweet potato, peeled and cubed (about 2 cups)
  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt + pepper to taste
  • 1 cup baby spinach or massaged kale
  • ⅓ cup sauerkraut or kimchi (for gut support)
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds

Lemon-Tahini Drizzle

  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely grated
  • 1 tbsp warm water
  • Pinch of sea salt

How To Make a Bowl That Feeds Your Gut, Your Mood, And Your Taste Buds

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss sweet potatoes with olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Spread on a lined baking sheet and roast for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until edges are golden and crispy.

While the potatoes roast, cook your quinoa according to package directions (I do 1 part quinoa to 2 parts water, simmered 15 minutes, then rested 5). Fluff with a fork. Season it! A little salt goes a long way.

Whisk together tahini, lemon juice, garlic, water, and salt until smooth and pourable. If it’s too thick, add another splash of warm water.

In a bowl, layer quinoa, roasted sweet potato, greens, sauerkraut, and pumpkin seeds. Drizzle generously with lemon-tahini dressing.

Eat Immediately. Don’t let this one sit too long—it’s best when the sweet potato is still warm, and the sauerkraut gives it that fresh, cold crunch.

3. Immune-Loving Lentil Stew With Tomatoes And Spinach

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp ground coriander
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 cup dried green or brown lentils, rinsed
  • 1 can (400 g) diced tomatoes
  • 4 cups (1 L) vegetable broth
  • 2 cups baby spinach or chopped Swiss chard
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

How to Make A Stew That Fills Your Belly And Clears Your Sinuses

In a deep pot, heat olive oil over medium. Sauté onions until soft and golden. Add garlic, cumin, coriander, and chili flakes. Let them sizzle 30 seconds to open up.

Stir in lentils and canned tomatoes (including juice). Let it simmer together for 2–3 minutes before adding broth.

Pour in broth, bring to a boil, then lower to a simmer. Cover and let cook 25–30 minutes, or until lentils are tender but intact. Stir occasionally and season as needed.

Stir in spinach and let it wilt. Then squeeze in lime juice. It sharpens the stew like flipping a light switch.

Serve warm with a slice of sourdough or flatbread. It’s earthy, spiced, and rich without being heavy. Your sinuses will love you.

4. Ginger-Garlic Miso Noodle Soup With Bok Choy And Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 4 cups (1 L) low-sodium vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp white miso paste
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) soba or rice noodles
  • 1 cup shiitake or cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 heads baby bok choy, halved lengthwise
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar

Optional: Soft-boiled egg, green onions, sesame seeds

Making The Bowl That Fixes Everything From the Inside Out!

In a soup pot, heat sesame oil. Add garlic and ginger and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. These two are your anti-inflammatory backbone.

Add broth and stir in miso paste until fully dissolved. Do not boil hard—keep it at a gentle simmer to preserve the probiotics in the miso.

Add mushrooms and noodles. Simmer 6–8 minutes until noodles are tender. Add bok choy in the last 3–4 minutes so it stays bright and crisp-tender.

Add soy sauce and rice vinegar to finish the broth. Stir. Taste. Adjust.

Serve in deep bowls. Add a soft-boiled egg, sliced scallions, and sesame seeds if you’re feeling extra.

5. Gut-Friendly Roasted Veggie Bowl With Turmeric-Tahini Sauce

  • 1 small head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
